Morning visitor

Cardinals, in the family Cardinalidae, are passerine birds found in North and South America.

Just now, a male cardinal (only males are solid red) visited our patio. He flitted from plant to plant, then went into the garden. What a treat to see such a lively bird! The cardinal is the state bird of Kentucky.
