Knitting for teens: produce art, make money, and learn workplace skills

"BBF in Chicago is a multi-faceted social services agency that serves over 400 families each year through holistic, community-based human services . . . These coordinated program and service areas combat poverty, low educational attainment, chronic disease, criminal activity, and trauma."

One programs for kids is called knitLAB:

"knitLAB provides students with the opportunity to learn the basics of knitting through unique textile arts workshops.

Participants create custom projects and displays.

Student work is often featured in public art installations throughout North Lawndale. knitLAB also offers knitting-related field trips, master classes, knitting bazaars, and other special activities."
