Vegetable thoughts


We are just a month away from summer.

The winter was long and full of erratic ups and downs, storms and thaws, and false hopes of spring.

Spring finally came, as usual, in a big hurry and pulled everyone outdoors to smell and feel the goodness of the earth.

Gardens are getting planted--can radishes be far behind?

Then will come the long, hot days of July and August, building up a crescendo of vegetables abounding in farmer's markets, roadside stands, the supermarket, and our own back yards.

Once again around the sun we see the miracle of food made out of sunlight and water.
