The Beatles in Indiana
Not all the news in 1964 was grim. The British band that was taking over the world's rock-n-roll scene came to the USA for their second tour beginning in August 1964.

On September 3, the Beatles played in Indianapolis, about an hour's drive from my hometown of Louisville. My wonderful mom drove me and some friends to hear them play at the Indiana State Fair.
It was tremendous fun, and I still love my mom for supporting me in something that was not necessary at all, but that I wanted very much. And it was on a school night!
